Communicating with Teens

How do I get my teenager to open up and tell me anything?

Our Daddy MD Guide’s reply: By following the advice a very wise patient gave me a couple years ago: Get a ping pong table. A patient of mine suggested this a couple of years ago when we were talking about raising teenagers, and it really has worked like a charm. It’s an activity that brings the whole family together, provides fun and exercise, and gives us an opportunity to actually talk with our kids instead of sitting passively in front of the television. It has sort of become our family’s forum for important discussions and conversations.
